This project speculates an absurdist future of recording studios wherein the sound engineer grows their own specialized sound absorbers for a “unique sound”. Inspired by the techno-lust of sound recording equipment, this project utilizes hand-grown crystals placed compositionally on an ordinary object to spotlight the ways in which materials influence our sonic experiences.
