These works utilize microscopy to explore a deeper side to the hardware I develop; to capture the inner worlds of the materials used in circuitry. Microscopy was an essential technology used later in my own works in experimenting with growing piezoelectric crystals, and would also be a pivotal point in conceptualizing and contextualizing technology in relationship to sensory domains. The work I made using microscopy was both visual and sonic in nature, utilizing polarizing filters to present colorful growth rates of crystals that were influenced by electronic signals. Diving deeper into the materials of electronics gave me access to question the relationships, power dynamics and social hierarchies that mediate our sensory experiences.
