Using point to point soldering and a silicone mould, this illuminated wax acts as a counter-point to the box footprint of effects pedals. A simple fuzz pedal made with surface mount parts is embedded as part of this wax vessel. This project is meant to challenge and soften the possibilities of musical performers and music technologists. The wax used for this project was harvested from several beekeepers, myself included.

The fuzz pedals were used in a performance in collaboration with artist Azure Keahi from the collaborative exhibition “Bring No More Worthless Offerings”. This performance used the smell of wax, the taste of honey, both harvested locally in combination of a ritual to honor the newest generation of humans brought to the community — a sensory celebration filled with poetry and music.
